Spiritual formation is an intentional effort to draw close to God by working on the transformation of your spiritual life from what it is now to what would align more closely with the model of Jesus.
What it is the role of the spiritual director?
The spiritual director will help you sort through the challenges of discerning how God is encouraging you to make the transformation described above. Therefore, the director may encourage you to develop some new spiritual practices, or suggest areas for you to self-explore, or point out values and beliefs in your life that need to be reconsidered.
What is my role as a directee?
You will need to be intentional about change. In the same way that physical fitness requires an exercise routine, so does spiritual fitness. Therefore, to start, you will need to schedule a minimum of 20 minutes each day to focus on spiritual exercises that are designed to connect you with God. The more effort that you are willing to commit the better.
How to proceed?
If you are ready to move forward, please go to the 'start now' tab where you will be asked to choose a date and time, which will be followed by a short 'get-to-know-you' questionnaire. Generally, directees plan to meet once a month for 60 minutes. Each session costs $65. It is recommended that a directee plan to do 6 sessions then evaluate how things are going. It is normal for directees to want to take a short break after the 6th or 7th session as they have been working hard at intentional spiritual growth.
Where are the sessions held?
If you live within driving distance of Woodstock, Ontario then I would love to meet with you one on one. I will email my address to you after booking.
If, however your preference is to meet on-line then I will send you a link to Google Meet for the day and time that you have booked.
Fees
Sessions are generally 60 minutes, and my fee is $65 per session.
If you are a student at Tyndale, seeking a Spiritual Director for course requirements, please contact me by email to discuss fee reductions or exemptions.
